Sun to Node (no matter which one) is one of the most powerful synastric contacts you can have. It feels as though you need the other person for your soul's development. However powerful, there is no guarantee of the relationship lasting. Many times people with contacts to our Nodes are here to teach us specific lessons. Saturn to an angle is at first a draw as well, because it feels safe, but can soon become oppressive. At best it can cause you to want to make the most of what you can be. At worst, your Venus/Mercury will be quashed by Saturn demands and will want to keep hidden there on the IC.

I can relate to this so Much. My nodes are square my sun, north node in fifth and having children has always been a big deal but a massive struggle that I don't feel I've been able to control. Thanks for shedding a bit of light on why :)
