I have just bought your book and started it, and I am really enjoying it. I have the transiting conjunction TRINE my Mars (which is at 0 degrees Sagittarius natally) and am looking forward to the event, so I will keep you informed!

How transits behave often depends on what’s going on in the progressed chart–and there aren’t any places that coordinate the two. I’d like to see more of that, in particular, and perhaps those of us with more experience can help the others figure out what’s going on. I look forward to putting this in place–I think it will be fun and a good experience for everyone.

LB–Thanks for sharing this with us. As Anne mentioned, she will be writing something on the upcoming Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on her site in the spring–perhaps we’ll be able to share our ongoing experiences with her.

Also, perhaps we could do a bit more of that on this site. When something important is coming up, it might be a good idea for us to act as witness here. I could describe what the ‘classical’ interpretation of the transit would be, and then we can all contribute our reactions and events.

Dawn – Thanks for letting all of us know about this book. I too, love reading about the actual experiences people have during transits; since we all have at least some degree of “free will”, I sometimes find the accepted theories of how transits (or aspects) work don’t allow much room for individual variations, or else just don’t seem to fit. I’ve also learned the hard way that the best Astrologers, the true Artists of the craft, are the ones who truly listen to their clients. In large part, that’s why I’ve recently begun sharing some of my own stories on the various Astrological blogs, hoping they’ll lend insight to theory.

Like you, Dawn, I was also very affected by the 1997 Jupiter/Uranus conjunction and in a similar way. With my 5th house Moon in 6 degrees of Aquarius closely squaring my Mercury/Neptune/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio (in the 2nd/3rd houses), I not only developed an artistic talent I never knew I had, but I also found that I was bombarded by psychic impressions (usually received when I touched people’s hands). For several years, I did casual, and often times spontaneous “psychic” readings which became very much in demand. And while I continue to be sensitive, it’s not nearly as intense (or compelling) as it was during the transit. I usually don’t share my impressions now unless it serves some greater purpose.

At last, a brilliant review that underlines the difference and importance of valid research in current astrology. ‘Cook books’, although very helpful for beginners, are not the stuff of creative mental development which we need to encourage if our much maligned art is to inform the world. We need a respected niche in our changeful times and ‘Jupiter meets Uranus’, if you are up for the challenge, is a book that will expand the possibilities of your understanding, not just of astrology!

yes, quite a few of us – including me with my 10th House Mars at 1.5 Cancer, and transiting Jupiter/Uranus at 0 Aries squaring this from the Eighth House! – await this conjunction with a degree of apprehension. Here I offer you a wry comment from Liz Greene in one of her seminars, to the effect that, if you can predict it, it isn’t Uranus! So we must all wait and see what paradigm shift awaits us, and live with the shadow side of Prometheus’ illuminating fire……having said all that, I plan to have some broad speculation on what the conjunction
may bring for individuals on my Jupiter Meets Uranus site sometime in the spring. So keep an eye out!

I must confess that I am rather apprehensive about this particular conjunction. On the one hand, it should both fire up and relieve the stress of my natal 8th house moon/uranus conjunction at 2 Leo which forms a T-square to a Mercury/Neptune opposition. It will also conjoin Pallas. before all of that though, Jupiter will both conjoin my IC and then quickly oppose his natal position. My home life (and that of my parents) is highlighted during this time. And then after my home life, my creative/romantic/child will be highlighted as the pair moves into my fifth house. Yes, Jupiter will zip through in a couple of years, but Uranus will be there for a good long while. What will he bring?
