Finally I get it! This gives perspective to the 3rd house.
Third house descriptions from books have seemed trite.
'How we negotiate or navigate life' nails it! Thank you!!! :))

Can you tell by all my exclamation marks that I have Sun & Jupiter in the 3rd?

third house jupiter - I have an unshakeable sort of optimism. It's helpful when you're heavily influenced by saturn and mars. I have always been to known to have agreat imagination - could there be a link ?

Personally, I think of the 6th house as the most boring! I have my North Node in Libra in the 3rd, so I've spent a lot of time trying to understand it. I also have Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in Scorpio in the 3rd, 5-7 degrees from the IC - was never sure whether to interpret them as 3rd house planets, but I guess they are. I think I spent a lot of time daydreaming as a child and adolescent, but maybe everyone does then? Jup/Nep are also sextile my 1st house Merc/Venus/Pluto in Virgo, feeding into/out of that.

My bf's Jupiter sits on my 3rd house North Node, which is very nice. Feels generous and expansive, and makes relationship/partnership feel like an easier thing than usual.

3rd house retrograde Jupiter here. However the ruler of my 3rd is Saturn - which happens to be square Pluto.

I was bullied when I was a kid, yes.

The "happy go lucky" actitud, well, I do have it, but maybe it's more because of my Sag. moon.

With (Aquarius) Jupiter on my 3rd I've noticed one thing: I've never had to buy a mobile phone nor a car. These things are always given to me as gifts.

Parts of my comment would’ve made more sense had I mentioned the fact that my 3rd house ruler, Pluto (in the 12th) squares Mars (in the 9th).

Great article, very interesting. The third house is one I often struggle with interpreting.

I have a niece-in-law with a third house moon-saturn conjunction and she is the most serious and cautious baby I've ever met!

Hi Dawn -- I have Neptune/Mercury/Jupiter conjunct in Scorpio, with Jupiter in the 3rd, and Mercury and Neptune sitting just barely outside, closely squaring my 5th house Moon and loosely (?) sextiling and in mutual reception with my Pluto in Virgo (in the 12th). Depending on how wide of an orb you use, I might also have Jupiter square to Uranus in the 12th.

I could write a book on 3rd house experiences and practically have (LOL). Let’s just say I “emote” and sometimes this ability has come in handy – I’ve had to call 911 more times than anyone I’ve ever known, and once had the distinction of having the 911 operator compliment me on what a great job I was doing by telling me I was the “best” caller she’d ever had – I’m very good at dispensing information and at figuring out who needs to know what. I tend to pick up clues from my environment that others miss. This seems to be one of my chart’s strengths.

I’ve had lots of dangerously close calls while on short trips, and I’ve learned to avoid rough neighborhoods (I was brought up on the outskirts of one). I’ve always had periodic problems receiving mail, and often my communications seem to go awry, through no fault of my own.

I was also a dancer (not professionally) and I’ve always felt that it was through my dancing that I came closest to expressing the language of God – I guess that’s Jupiter’s influence (or maybe Neptune since it’s conjunct). I love to write, but don’t consider myself a writer. I write much more than I talk, and either way, I’m prone to having philosophical discussions. I’m not so much happy-go-lucky, more like “encouraging”. And last but not least, I love walking – I usually walk for at least an hour each day, just to keep my head on straight.

I have a series of baby pictures that were taken of me in the same day – happy baby, crying baby, pissed-off baby. They were all taken in front of our old television set, so maybe it depended on what channel they turned on. My mom once told me that I was a little “chatter-box” and would often have fellow bus riders cracking up as I attempted to imitate their conversations.

Interesting, isn't it? I think it's because as very small children, we have no 'filters.' Whatever we experience is written on our pudgy little faces. I'll bet the Jupiter babies smiled all the time.
