Sun conjunct the NN in any synastry indicates that the Sun person will shed light on where the Node person needs to grow. In the case of Pluto being there as well, there may be ego struggles and power games involved. Either person may try to manipulate the situation to his or her own advantage.

No trine is stronger or more influential than a conjunction, even when Pluto is involved.

Hello Dawn,
How significant it is if one person's sun/MC conj in 10th hits the pluto/northnode conj in12th of the other, all within 8.25 to 11 degrees virgo. With MC person's uranus pluto just 4-5 degrees ahead ?

Also, is pluto trine venus and mars aspect stronger than the above mentioned collective conjunction ?

Thank you and best regards

Thank you vey much for your wonderful site . We learn so many things in it ! In France we really don't have such an interesting site, nor such deep analysis on astrology. I hope you will accept to publish this comment and my questions.
my questions are about a chart which has interaspects at the angles, but it seems to me that this case was not yet evoked (or perhaps I failed noticed it) . My MC/IC axis pisces /virgo squares his NN/SN axis, (gemini/sag) so that my IC both squares his NN and IC etc etc.(2°)
My Venus (which is also my SN ruler) is conjunct exactly my IC in my natal chart. So, my SNruler Venus squares his NN, his NS, etc etc too.
At the same time, his libra Neptune conjuncts my SN in libra, orb 0,03°, on another axis that is my NN/SN axis in aries/libra . As for MY neptune, it conjuncts his SN ruler Jupiter in scorpio.
We have a serious age difference between us, but the fascination is strong. I just can't say if these aspects are rather good or real poison. The one or the other I guess, I afraid this can't be "nor good nor bad "!
Once again thank you for your site, I often read your articles .

If you have the North Node in the 7th house, your destiny, your soul revelation and your evolution, comes through partnership. This means the trials, tribulations and the blessings of partnership, the whole gamut. No, nodal contacts are not required. What is required is a deep sense of awareness, and a knowledge that every relationship brings lessons and understanding. If his new friend and mentor shares a NN with him, it means that they are on the same path of discovery. Perhaps your lessons are telling you that you need to let go of petty jealousy and allow him what he needs for his own spiritual growth. But without looking at all three of the charts, I would not like to make assumptions about who is to learn what in this relationship.

This subject has been on my mind HEAVILY. This is all very amazing stuff. Your insights are greatly appreciated. I recently became involved in a very nice relationship but was unnerved when i saw our synastry... No major nodal contacts. Just a couple minor things. I have heard two arguments: no nodal contacts, no lasting relationship, or no nodal contacts, not a make or break. However, i have NN in Taurus house 7, and my boyfriend has NN Capricorn in house 10. This seems very major to me. I have started to become very jealous of his friend and mentor who seems to have so much sway in his life. I then saw that their NNs are almost exactly conjunct. I hated the idea of his life being built with this other person and not me! I suppose my question is obvious: if you have the north node in the 7th house, is it an absolute must that you have nodal contacts with your partner?

Hi, Ana--Do you mean in general? I think, if you read enough articles on this site, that you will see that I do take the viewpoint that relationships have a purpose, and that we come together for a reason. We have something to work out, and sometimes those lessons are very specific. We are creating the karma of the future at the same time we are working out the karma of the past--in that sense, every action in our lives carries a deep and profound meaning.

It will be an unending challenge, but it will also be a stimulating one. You will certainly not find one another dull. Whether it becomes overstimulating, or annoying, depends on the rest of the chart comparison.

What happens when any planet forms an inconjunct to the nodal axis is a crisis of integration. That planet struggles to make itself known to the axis and have its qualities acknowledged and respected. It can often be the 'missing link' to current events. (This aspect to the nodes can be very 'event oriented,' particularly when the lights are involved.)

Thank you for the response. Another thing- you mentioned that when a planet or transit forms an inconjunct to the axis can be particularly problematic. Would the current Gemini Venus in retrograde be an example of that, and what the the effects be?

If a progressed angle moves on to someone's nodal axis, the effect is much the same as the natal contact, only for a shorter period of time. When it locks in the natal positions, it is lifelong--by progression, we have about a three or four year period depending on how much the nodes have moved by progressions (because the angle will hit both the natal and progressed nodes). There may be a sense of urgency about the relationship, that there is only a certain amount of time to get it right. When one person's Pluto conjuncts the Asc of another, especially if it's the South Node ruler, there may have been power struggles and control issues in the past that have to be address. Acceptance would be a keyword.
