Kely, I suggest you read my series on the MC/IC, parts one and two, which you can find here: http://theinnerwheel.com/2009/09/29/synastry-studies-the-m-c-i-c-part-one/

When Mars is in fixed signs and square another's Mars, they are powerfully drawn to one another, but there is a strong tendency towards a clash of wills. Scorpio and Aquarius Mars's have two completely different ways of doing things, and conflict can't be avoided. And yet there is a powerful fascination about the 'other,' which seems very foreign and exotic. It may start out as attraction, but unless other factors mitigate the conflict, it won't be an easy ride.

I would like to share my experience with somebody's stellium falling in my 4th house. Actually his north node conjunct my IC, and in my 4th house are his Sun, Mars, Mercury and Uranus. This man make me tremble and shiver with only one stare. Sometimes I feel him so strong it's like my soul departing from my body. I don't have his birth hour but I suppose that he has Scorpio ascendant, also falling in my 4th house. Absolutely I am so drawn to him I would spare all other synastry positions but I am interested how it would affect us with this configuration and the square of his scorpio mars in my 4th house and my aquarias mars in my 7th house?

Argh! You know what bothers me more? Aspects that don't follow the elements. How do you say that? Out-of-element aspects? Argh!

Hi Arun,

It's neither right nor wrong. Aspects are not absolute--it isn't as if they begin to exist on one degree and 'poof!' go away in other. Aspects are part of a bigger cycle which gradually phases in toward exact and then gradually fades, the influence being most intense at exact (it's slightly different for progressions, but that's another story). Orbs are really a thumbnail sketch to see whether or not an aspect is very active. It's the same with house division. When a planet is near the end of the house, it's still in that house, but it's mainly looking through the door to the next house to see what's on the horizon. It may be very sensitive to what's going on in the next house, but it has gathered power in the house it's in (being near the end) and is influential there, too. You have to consider both.

dear dawn,
in astrology softwares on the net, if a planet is close to the end of one house, it is considered in the next house. do you think this is right? what is your opinion on this?

My Uranus+Ascendant+Moon and my Mercury+Venus+Pluto all land in my partner's 7th house, with my Sun in his 8th. I guess I stimulate those houses for him! His chart is more scattered. His Moon falls nicely in my 4th house, and his Sun in my 9th. His Saturn lands around my 12th house cusp (though it also exactly sextiles my Sun), with his Mars and Pluto also in my 12th. I think the relationship has brought up lots of my old stuff, but it feels ultimately supportive, which sounds like Saturn.
