But they only spark to life when a transit or progression hits the angle and affects both parties. It can cause some trouble. For example, if transiting Pluto is conjunct my MC and conjunct your ASC, I may be so obsessed about possibly losing my job that I don't notice you're going through immense, difficult personal change. On the other hand, if Venus is there, it's nice for all. Six of one, half dozen of another in angle/angle matches.
