The Dark Goddess: By the end of this exercise you will understand the symbolism of the above picture in regards to our old friend, the Black Moon Lilith. There is life in the old girl after all, albeit a very different definition of life than the one we’re used to. A very surprising one.
I’ve been teaching BML in the course on The Dark Goddess. There is a lot of dark energy in all four of the major asteroids. There needs to be. After all, we are discussing the archetype of the feminine, and the feminine = the material world = death, or at least the acknowledgment and acceptance of death and rebirth/renewal. All four of the major asteroids (Ceres, Juno, Vesta, and Pallas) get their turn on the wheel. But BML is important in this cycle, too, and this is why I include her in the Dark Goddess Course. She acts as a counterpoint to the others. So while she is, on the whole, responsible for representing a lot of nasty things in this world (see the previous article on Lilith HERE), she also carries within her the key to renewal beyond the circle of life, death, and death within life. The BML at its best is about what we have not yet seen, known nor understood, and thrusts us right into the middle of it so that we might deal with it intimately and know it deeply.
I’m posting an exercise on the Black Moon. Here are a number of charts with BML prominent. The data has been taken out. Read the previous article on Lilith and then ponder this: Only one of these charts is the chart of a killer/degenerate. See if you can figure out which one it is. No cheating by astro-sleuthing. (Figuring out the date by planetary positions.) Have fun, and I’ll see you in a few days with the answer and some more recent and surprising material on BML.
Please remember with BML that we are dealing with the apogee of the Moon, not the asteroid. Also, these positions are the Mean position for BML, which I prefer for a number of reasons explained in the first article.
1 or 4 – my BML is pretty prominent as well as it’s conj Pluto and the Moon < 1 degree
My first choice is 6 because it also has a square to venus / saturn conjunction and BML conjunct moon and juno and all three square chiron. Might be 4 cause it also has a hard aspect between chiron and BML but I think it is 6.
My guess is chart #7 because of the 4th house conjunction between BML, moon, s. node, and mars: inner rage?
Chart 7 BLM is in a T-square with Vesta and Uranus, not a lot of aspects besides the conjunctions and a semi sextile to the BLM. And all those SAG planets including the chart ruler dis posited by Jupiter in Scorpio conjunct IC. Chart 7 is a new moon, might not be very tempered in its expression.
Just notice that I followed the colors not the numbers and was wrong . Take my choice of 6 back. The aspects are sextiles. Then I choose 4. BML conjunct Ceres Retrograde in 8th, opposite Mercury/Chiron/ Moon conjunction and in hard aspect ( as I understood) with Saturn retrograde.
Chart 1 has BML conjunct MC and Uranus which could make for a reformer or a disruptor. But it’s trine AC and Saturn, which seems like it could lend more stability. I don’t know how to interpret the BML quincunx to Pluto.
In Chart 2 the grand trine involving BML, Ceres, and Mars, which seems potentially aggressive, but that could be positive or negative. It could create someone who’s a reformer, especially since BML is in a stellium in Virgo in the 10th. It’s pretty out in the open and I would think more service-oriented.
I’m inclined to say Chart 3 doesn’t belong to a depraved killer. It has that opposition between the Moon and BML but overall I feel like BML has more positive potential than negative.
Chart 4 has that very “deathy” looking conjunction with Ceres in the 8th opposite the Chiron, Moon, Mercury stellium. But BML is in a grand trine with Venus and AC and I counted at least 2 grand trines in this chart before my eyes crossed trying to follow all the trines. I guess all those trines would make it easier to do your killing if you were so inclined, but again this one looks more positive than negative to me.
I wasn’t sure about Chart 5 because BML’s opposition to the North Node and Moon seems difficult but both BML and the Moon seem to be otherwise well aspected.
Chart 6 has got so many aspects going on that it makes my head spin. This one seems to have the most tough aspects–the trine from BML to Jupiter could exaggerate the BML negativity if it’s inclined to be negative.
In Chart 7, BML in the 4th house conjunct the Moon and opposite Uranus seems like violent emotions on the inside could explode in a very disruptive way. Then you have the square to Vesta linking back to Uranus which seems like a hard aspect to live with.
So my first choice would be #7, and my second choice would be #1.
I just noticed about Ted Bundythat in his draconic chart:
1. Pluto would move to 1 deg Gemini opposing that natal Sun.
2.His dr. sun in 20 Virgo would oppose/complete that natal Uranus/Vesta/BML T-square
3.and that natal Moon/BML in draconic would shift to conjoin the natal Neptune.
Gee I know I am supposed to look only at the natal BML but are you going to explain these BML involvement in the draconic too?
🙂
This is typical of what happens in draconic charts. The ‘problem’ that shows in the natal chart is released in the draconic. More and more evidence that the draconic chart (compared to the natal) reveals another layer of soul and soul decisions. Aside from Sun/Drac Pluto, (which you often find in the charts of criminals and was particularly evident in the Deep Cuts course I did on assassins), the nodal chart allows the troubles inherent in the natal chart to present themselves clearly in the first and second houses. The person will embody these difficult qualities, live them out. Might not happen if the Drac planets appeared anywhere else. The real problem here is that the Drac Jupiter squares from the first. There is a sense of entitlement and self–inflation there. And of course, the BML/Neptune connection deception and illusion meet chaos and cutting. Not a good blend. And of course, Ceres in the Drac conjunct the natal Juno. Scythe, anyone?
I have BML hugging Aquarius MC (in the 9H side). That is not all, she is the yod apex courtesy sextile between 9H ruler, Saturn in Cancer and chart ruler Venus in Virgo.
Hardly anyone appreciates or acknowledges my level of education, knowledge, explorations and belief/value systems. It is possibly the primary cause of any ‘inner rage’ that i may have. I have 4 degrees. But i did not get much glory or benefit from any, partly because i didn’t attend graduation ceremonies for any of those, by choice. That was my way of rebelling against the popular culture of giving too much importance to the pomp and pageantry of the graduation followed by hanging the ‘ridiculous looking batman like’ photo on a wall. I have detached my values and my sense of career far from the ways-of-the-world so to speak. (9H, MC, Aquarius)
