Nearly everyone these days has heard of the infamous Saturn Return we experience around the age of 30 — I’ve even seen greeting cards that say, “Sorry about your Saturn return.” However, few realise that the Saturn return is the culmination of earlier cyclical crises. These all relate to the process of individuation — making our lives our own.
The Saturn Return is only one of many psycho-spiritual crises we must weather to attain spiritual maturity. We talk a lot about the growth of consciousness — but what does that actually mean?
The Path to Conscious Awareness
In real terms, it means taking the blinders off. We must look at our past conditioning and our emotional inheritance — and learn to act independently from the truth of the individual Soul. We start to see ourselves, others, and the world in a new light.
In medieval days, those on the spiritual path were called “awake.” The un-awakened were dreamers, living by life’s illusions. Our developing consciousness is the result of our drive to be more awake.

The greater astrological cycles help us discover our personal path by taking away our false beliefs, defences, and fears. At first, we may have to live with confusion and paralysis. Eventually, it becomes clear. In a departure from my usual courses, students can use their own charts as well as the ones I provide — and will learn how to cast and read Return Charts to help focus on what is important in each cycle.
