Built on Dawn Bodrogi’s 25 years of practice
Dawn Bodrogi was one of astrology’s most respected teachers and practitioners. Her Chiron work — developed through thousands of client readings and refined over 25 years — went further than any standard interpretation. She understood that the wound cannot be read in isolation from its sign, its house, its aspects, and the planetary chain governing where the healing is trying to go. That synthesis is what makes the difference between a description of a wound and a map through it.
Dawn’s framework for Chiron moves through three stages: The Scar on the Soul (what the wound brought to consciousness), The Wounded Healer (the developing capacity that emerges from living with it), and The Sapient (the fully integrated wisdom the wound was always trying to produce). The Wound and the Gift follows that arc for your specific placement.
The report uses Swiss Ephemeris for all calculations and Whole Sign houses — the traditional Hellenistic system that was the foundation of Dawn’s practice. If you are used to seeing your chart in Placidus, some house placements may look different here — this is by design, not error, and every interpretation in the report is internally consistent within this framework.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from other Chiron reports?
Most Chiron interpretations are assembled from pre-written text — the same paragraphs for every person with Chiron in Taurus or Chiron in the 6th House. The Wound and the Gift is written fresh for your specific chart. Your central wound metaphor, your aspect synthesis, and your gift declaration are unique to your placement. They do not exist until your order is placed.
Do I need to know astrology to understand the report?
No. The report is written for the educated astrology enthusiast — someone who has encountered Chiron before and wants to go deeper. But it is also written to be felt, not just understood. The reading guide at the beginning of the report tells you exactly how to approach it. You do not need to follow every technical detail to receive what it is saying about you.
How long is the report?
Between 2,500 and 3,500 words — approximately 8 to 10 pages — depending on your chart’s complexity. Most clients report reading it more than once.

Is the time of birth important?
Yes. The house placement of Chiron — which determines where the wound lives in your daily life — requires an accurate birth time. An exact time produces a significantly more precise report. If you do not have an exact time, provide your best estimate and note the uncertainty in the order form.
What house system do you use — and why does my Chiron look like it’s in a different house?
The Wound and the Gift uses Whole Sign Houses — the oldest house system in astrology, used continuously since Hellenistic astrology in the 2nd century BCE, and the foundation of Dawn Bodrogi’s practice.
In Whole Sign, the entire sign on your Ascendant becomes your 1st house, the next sign your 2nd, and so on. If you are used to seeing your chart in Placidus — the system used by most modern astrology apps — some of your house placements will look different here. This is not an error.
This matters particularly for Chiron because the house placement determines where the wound lives in your daily life. Whole Sign and Placidus can place Chiron in different houses — the report uses Whole Sign throughout and every interpretation is internally consistent within that framework.

What is the Chiron Return and why does it matter?
Chiron returns to its natal position approximately every 50 years — a period that astrologers recognize as a major reckoning with the wound and the beginning of its integration.
