Can you talk a little about the angle rulers of the MC/IC? You mentioned them but didn’t get into them much.

Where angle contacts on the Asc/Desc axis indicate attraction, angle contacts with the MC/IC indicate security and mutual self-actualization. This is the axis that determines not whether two people are drawn to each other, but whether they can actually build something together. If your partner’s planets aren’t supporting your roots, your branches cannot reach the sun.
Contacts to the IC help us feel legitimate and psychologically secure. In contrast, planets from someone else’s chart hitting our MC deal with our feelings of legitimacy in the world — helping us establish ourselves or feel like we truly belong.
The Imbalance: Square and Inconjunct Rulers
Natally, the most difficult cases of imbalance occur when the rulers of the angles are inconjunct or quincunx. The opposition is almost as challenging. With a square, the energies are forced to punch it out and reach a workable conclusion.
In these imbalances, we often see a willful turning away from one end of the axis — men often struggle with the IC, while women on the whole may feel the strain at the MC end.
When Rulers Meet: Planetary Impact
When the ruler of one person’s angle hits a planet or angle in another’s chart, that planet is heavily emphasized. If the ruler of my IC is Neptune and it hits your MC, my Neptune might inspire you or undermine your accomplishments. My insecurities could push us toward dissolution — or my compassion could inspire you to change the world. Similarly, if my Pluto rules my IC and conjuncts yours, my power issues could dominate your inner world.
In the best-case scenario, these contacts teach us how to be emotionally integrated and independent. While personal planets like Venus or Jupiter are easier to cope with, the Gods of Change — Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, and Chiron — offer unique lessons in self-actualization. They push us forward on the path of becoming who we were meant to be, both in our private sanctuary and our public life.

Yes, I feel this disturbance a lot. I have the Cardinal signs on my Axes. Aries MC/Libra IC.
While Mars and Venus are tightly conjunct tthey both are in Quincunx to Saturn in 7th ( also DC ruler). When I involve myself in partnerships of any kind I find it difficult to relate in a way that will help my own psychological development I guess. I find 7th house energies/relationships of any kind totally divorced from how I need to resolve my IC/MC issues. (I am identifying it for the first time and am so relieved I can now direct my energies in the right direction.)

I assume that angle rulers in aspect to each other that don’t hit the angles are included as being important, but what about opposite ownership, and does one feel it stronger? If A has Gemini at the IC, and B’s Mercury conjuncts A’s ascendant, but has no Gemini/Mercury on the angles, is it equally powerful for both people, or primarily the ascendant person? Naturally the importance of Mercury for person A would have to considered, but how strongly does the other feel your angle? Its not not like Vertex which is a point and is primarily the experience of the Vertex person, I imagine.

My partner and I have the exact same IC and MC, angle, house, everything. What does this mean? IC in Aries at 27 degrees and MC in Libra. My Sun is in Taurus at 0 degrees, so must effect him, my Uranus is at 15 degrees to our MC placement. He has Jupiter in Aries too at 15, so near my Mercury at 05 and close by our shared IC.
Also, his Sun is at 05 Libra, which must affect my MC, and his Venus at 14 in libra too. I wonder if this dynamic makes me confident about how myself, him and the world view me? His Mars is close by at 11 degrees in Scorpio. Thank you!
